Distance Learning Launch.

We had a pretty smooth launch for our team today using our distance learning model. 85 out of 90 students had online interaction with my google classroom at some point during the day.

I started the day by sending out a Remind Text to all classes at 8:00: "Good morning! It's a school day! :) Check in question with daily agenda will post daily at 9:00AM" I start every traditional class with a check in question in the GC, so I did the same for our online class. I referred to it as "digital attendance" providing evidence of having visited the page today.

To wrap up some loose ends regarding genetic engineering, students viewed Brainpop: Dolly the Sheep https://www.brainpop.com/science/diversityoflife/dollythesheep/ , completed the graded quiz, screenshot the results and attached the image when turning it in.

After that, students watched a short edpuzzle about genetic engineering https://edpuzzle.com/media/5e6f9f04fe1e8d3e4d96705c  . Edpuzzle integrates with the google classroom so the grades are automatically recorded for you! It defaults to being out of 100 pts, but if you change the assignment in the GC before anybody does the assignment, it will calibrate the score to be out of whatever you need.

All in all solid launch and the team has great ideas for making this week even more fun and interactive. Stay tuned.
